It used to be said that truckers loved both kinds of music – Country and Western.
While this isn’t the case anymore, there is still a certain allure in the many songs written by, for, and about truckers in the country genre. Even if you prefer Metallica or Kanye West to C.W. McCall in your civilian life, when you’re out on the open road you will probably find yourself tempted to listen to some of the classics.
Our friends at Today’s Trucking compiled a list of the top 50 trucking songs of all time, with a uniquely Canadian perspective – Stompin’ Tom Connors’ Bud the Spud comes in at #2. While by no means complete (there are so many songs about trucking), this YouTube playlist does a great job of pointing out the greatest hits.
At First Class Training Centre, we love the trucking industry. It has provided our instructors with years of rich experience making sure goods got to market on time, and it’s currently giving our students nearly limitless opportunities to get the career they want. We are trucking pros that know the business well, and are dedicated to helping our students get off to a great start on the road to success.
And we love trucking music.
